Science Communication Office Opened at Our University
The Science Communication Office, established at our university as part of the "Science Communication Office" project initiated by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), has been inaugurated with a ceremony.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Gençcelep, Secretary General Senar Hatim, deans, and academic and administrative staff attended the opening ceremony of the office, located on the second floor of the University’s Central Library Service Building.
At the ceremony, Dr. Hazal Yüksekkaya, Coordinator of the University’s Science Communication Office, briefed the attendees on the office's founding purpose, objectives, and planned activities.
In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Gençcelep highlighted the importance of the Science Communication Office, stating: “The Science Communication Office we are inaugurating today was established with a philosophy that prioritizes societal benefit. Amidst the transformation and change occurring in Turkey’s higher education sector, connecting scientific work with the public and developing projects aimed at society are of great importance. This office will operate in alignment with this vision. In the period ahead, it will be a significant asset for our students to visit this office and benefit from the activities conducted here.”
The Science Communication Office will operate with the aim of sharing scientific knowledge with the public in an effective and accessible manner, increasing the visibility of research outputs, and supporting scientific projects that benefit society.
