Professions of the Future Discussed at Our University's Science Café Event
A talk titled "Future Professions Driven by Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation" was organized by our university's Science Communication Office as part of the Council of Higher Education's Science Café events on "Employment-Oriented Professions and Professions of the Future."
Citizens, as well as high school and university students, attended the program held at the Hakkari Public Education Center Conference Hall.
Dr. Mehmet Salih Kurt, a faculty member from our University’s Faculty of Engineering, participated as a speaker in the event—moderated by Hazal Yüksekkaya, Coordinator of the Science Communication Office. He addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on the business world and professions, emerging career fields of the future, and key considerations for young people regarding career planning. Noting that artificial intelligence transforms professions rather than eliminating them, Dr. Kurt emphasized the growing importance of skills such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data literacy, stating that this transformation affects all disciplines, from engineering to the social sciences.
The event concluded after the participants' questions were answered.
